Solution Focused Brief Therapy

Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is less about the problem and more about what already is working in a person’s life.  Let’s break it down….

Solution:  The focus is on solutions rather than problems.  I help you identify what the future will be like when the problem is no longer happening or at least happens less frequently.

Focused: While we focus on the  future, no mandates are forced on you.  Clients play a significant role in SFBT.

Brief:  This is not a ‘forever’ process.  We work together to determine the number of sessions needed and define what will be happening when you no longer need therapy.

Therapy:  This is a two-way conversation, not me simply telling you exactly what to do.

This is not the only way I practice but is a good strategy for people who need fewer sessions.
